Anna Ross – First Day

UK singer-songwriter, Anna Ross, has been engaged with many groups, from singing backup for Lisa Stansfield, Stereophonics, Tom Jones, Tina Turner, to her work touring and singing with the iconic new wave band, Duran Duran. She has been to about every single stage imaginable, from Coachella and Live Aid to the opening of the Olympics.  Now, she is infusing her talent into bringing you First Day, the title-track and lead single from her upcoming album

The single, First Day, opens up with soaring vocals, and we get right away Ross’ powerful stage presence.  Her vocals put her right up in center-stage with it’s R&B and bluesy notes.  The blissful and emotive single also has a retro feel to it, mixing a bit of disco into the dance-worthy track.  The great electronic nodes on this fearless track emblazoned with Ross’ warm vocals pave the way to a gigantic and dynamic sound that is supported by strings and electronic beats.

Duran Duran are 100% supportive of First Day.  Co-written by Duran Duran’s vocalist/songwriter Simon Le Bon, the remix of this track done by John Taylor (Duran Duran’s bassist) with co-producer Charles Scott will be released later this month.

A San Diego-based music writer, My Nguyen scourges her beat in the attempt to find new bands with rocking material to write about. Prolific in the sense that she cannot stop writing, she has contributed to Performer Magazine, MVRemix, and the music and entertainment sections of SDEntertainer.com, TheCelebrityCafe.com, and WithGuitars.com.
