Ayelle – Boy (prod. Mucky & J83)

Ayelle boy

Swedish-Iranian artist Ayelle releases her new single, Boy.  The single is a discovery of self-love through letting go. Ayelle’s voice is SO R&B, soul SMOOTH. The complexity and depth of this track seems never ending because I feel like I’m in water while listening and there’s no sandy or concrete bottom. I was hypnotized when her voice entered the ambiance around the 30 second mark. The ambiance harmonizes beautifully with the vocals, using filtered-down vocal chops as a backing harmony. The entire song is a dreamscape of soothing instruments and fleeing thoughts.

The track was produced by Mucky who worked on Sevdaliza’s debut album, ISON.

The artist sent a quote along about the single.

“Growing up, girls are bombarded with fairytales about women whose lives and happiness depend upon men. This message goes quite deep and can sometimes make us look for fulfilment everywhere else but in ourselves. I wrote this track about coming to the realisation that I had to love myself after coming out of a relationship that was all-consuming.”

She has another EP coming up, so stay tuned. Boy is perfect for empowering, loving yourself, drowning, sinking, casual Fridays, crying, looking at nature, getting lost, and finding yourself.
