BASTION – Feelings (Ft. Sam Lyons)

That funk, that soul, those modern 70s vibes with disco vocals. The electronic duo from France, BASTION, teams up with singer/songwriter, Sam Lyons, from Madison, Wisconsin.

We’ve had BASTION on here before, with his funky/electro style hit Palace. Do you know who else was an electronic band from France who played french house and disco? Daft Punk. You can certainly hear the Daft Punk style chord progressions in Palace, while Feelings has a bit more of a pop style to it. You can still hear the Daft Punk electro funk style.

Another funny coincidence is their song prior to the Feelings release features, Katelyn Tarver, whose new song we posted yesterday! We love the song so much, we’ve decided to post this before getting into Sam Lyons.

Sam Lyons has a fairly impressive music resume, and his family certainly suggests he’s been around music for a long time. He performed on NPR, Milwaukee’s Summerfest and Isthmus Jazz Fest at age 16. Sam received a scholarship offer from the Berklee College of Music in 2014 to record his own original music. He has since released 3 albums.

Sam’s Father is a bass player, trombonist and singer who plays for bands Steely Dane, Primitive Culture, and VO5. He has toured and recorded with Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown), Butch Vig (Garbage) and Freedy Johnston. Sam’s oldest bother, Clay, is a jazz saxophonist and received a full ride to Boston’s Berklee College of Music and graduated. His 25 year old brother is a rapper.

Sounds like BASTION made a good decision in their new electro french funk pop BANGER. Listen below and click here for download options.
