Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival 2017 Preview

Billboard Hot 100 music festival preview

Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival is this weekend, and rBeatzRadio is excited to celebrate all the artists performing at Jones Beach Theater in Long Island, New York, United States, North America, Planet Earth. The music festival produced by Billboard in partnership with Live Nation is set to headline some of the worlds biggest acts, including Big Sean, Zedd, Demi Lovato, Major Lazer, Marshmello, Camila Cabello, and DJ Khaled.

Billboard is the music industry standard record chart in the United States, and the United States has the largest music industry retail value out of any country in the WORLD by close to double of what the #2 country is worth. According to Wikipedia, The US music market is worth nearly $5.32 billion, and Japan comes in second place at $2.76 billion. Point is…Billboard is BIG, so their music festival should be a days and nights to remember.

rBeatz has celebrated this festival with an exclusive mix from our resident DJ, BRB, with songs from acts playing at the festival. We will be playing this mix all weekend long on rBeatzRadio.  You can download our mobile app in the App Store or on Google Play. Scroll to the bottom of this post to view the tracklist.  I also went through each time slot this weekend, with a recommendation of who to see.

Day 1: Saturday, August 19th

Ben Alessi

These guys put on more than 70 shows every month in New York….wow!

Matt Medved

Matt Medved is the head of Billboard’s dance/electronic music and content strategy departments. He is also a DJ/Producer.

Justin Caruso

He just came out with this big remix…a graduate of USC’s Thornton School of Music.

Phoebe Ryan

She used to write for artists Oh Honey, rapper Skizzy Mars and Bea Miller before launching her solo career, signing with Colombia records in 2015 and being featured on tracks with The Knocks, Tritonal, Skizzy Mars, and The Chainsmokers.

Kodie Shane

Kodie Shane is named after a cowboy. She’s from Atlanta and was recently on a song with Lil Yatchy.

blackbear

He co-wrote Boyfriend with Justin Bieber.

Gucci Mane

Apparently he’s a changed man since prison. I simply must see what he’s created since then.

Great Good Fine Ok

They are a Brooklyn synthpop duo who made a chart topping song the morning after meeting each other.

Party Favor

He’s doing you a favor by throwing a party. He also recently came out with the below Major Lazer edit, and it’s wild!

Zedd

He’s pretty big. Billboard dumbed him the Dance Music’s Anti-Bro.

Rick Ross

I grew up on Ricky Rose. He recently came out with a Birdman Diss featured on World Star Hip-Hop.

Big Sean

Rapper from Detroit is signed with GOOD, Roc Nation, AND Def Jam. What a trifecta!

Day 2: Sunday, August 20th

Ryan Egan

Indie Pop artist from New York who has been featured in Billboard and Noisey

Surf Rock is Dead

I wish it wasn’t – This Brooklyn-based duo from Chicago and Melbourne, Australia apparently have no friends. They made good music tho!

CVBZ

He’s a singer/songwriter/producer from Oregon who is on a crazy journey.

Le Youth

He is known for combining R&B with 90’s house music. Love genre mixing!

Maggie Lindemann

She blew up on the social media app Keek.

Yoke Lore

Indie Banjo pop…aren’t you intrigued? Suggesting you skip DJ Khaled to witness something more unique in the music space.

French Horn Rebellion

Funky electronic band who engages amazingly with the crowd. They recently launched their own label, YouTooCanWoo, whose housed productions for the Knocks and MGMT.

Whethan

Ethan Snoreck aka Wethan crushes Hypem’s popular chart on the reg.

Lil Yachty

He is PUMPING out music

Marshmello

If the future of music is combining food with music, I’m game. The fluffy sweet typically used in the popular camp snack, s’mores, just came out with its new single, Silence Ft. Khalid.

Young Thug

His new album, Beautiful Thugger Girls, is amazing. If you haven’t had the chance and enjoy trap music, this is a MUST LISTEN THROUGH.

Major Lazer

They just came out with the music video for, Sua Cara, staring Brazilian stars Anitta and Pabllo Vittar in the Moroccan desert.

They also just dropped this remix by Slander of their single, Know No Better. Had to share it because of how hot off the hard drive it is. The original is one of rBeatzRadio’s most popular songs.
