Britton – Under Your Skin

Britton under your skin

Arizona-based producer Britton releases his debut track, Under Your Skin. LA singer-songwriter, Sara Skinner, gives a warm, pop top line to lead the track. The track is fairly chill overall, with a future-forward pop, future bass hook. The harmony of the track is beautiful, creating that synth-pop vibe for those squeamish from the higher energetic EDM.  The percussive elements have that trap vibe, adding another genre to the already versatile track.

The song is about heartbreak, judging from the melancholic tone. Another aspect of the track I thought was clever was the pulsating synths, similar to that of a heartbeat. This type of beautiful synth-pop is being popularized by acts such as Odesza, Illenium, Flume, and Porter Robinson. It’s wide, cinematic presence allows for more production, pretty lights, and animation to follow the music.

With a debut like this, I know Britton has taken care of his brand, making sure his first release is received well. I’m excited to hear what he comes up with next.
