Cardi B – Bartier Cardi (feat. 21 Savage)

Cardi B Bartier Cardi

Cardi B released her new song, Bartier Cardi today, featuring 21 Savage. The song is HYPE, with Cardi’s fast-paced flow in front of ad libs from 21 Savage. Her flow is fire, perfect for trap music. 21 Savage is a great compliment for Cardi’s high energy vocals. The Atlanta rapper has a more docile tone to his voice, giving the listener a nice bridge from Cardi killing it. You gotta take a break from killing it from time to time.  Her voice is so fast pace with hard cadence, it almost acts like another percussion instrument, which give the already drum heavy genre more high end percussion element.

I love Cardi B. She’s from the Bronx and she’s real. If you watch her interviews, she’s not media trained. It’s just directly her personality. She mentioned on Jimmy Fallon that she named the song Bartier Cardi because she didn’t want Cartier to sue her. That made me laugh because of how direct and honest sounding it was. I felt like the real her was speaking with Jimmy Fallon and not some media trained artist or actor with pre-prepared stories.  These are the kinds of brands and celebrities I think the future will lean towards. She was the first solo female rapper to his #1 on Billbaord since Lauryn Hill almost 20 years ago.
