DIM MAK relaunches NEIGHBORHOOD Festival

DIM MAK LINEUP

Steve Aoki’s DIM MAK brand held events in LA back in 06′ and 07′ called NEIGHBORHOOD festivals, an event promoting up-and-coming, indie acts. The festival celebrated the underground artist, becoming a home for music discoverists alike.
Today, DIM MAK is relaunching NEIGHBORHOOD as a community-centered mini (1 day) festival. The aim is to build a neighborhood vibe, where members of the communities from all walks of life come together in the pursuit of a shared, uplifting experience. The lineup consists of a combination of electronic and hip hop artists as an ode to old-school Brooklyn. These artists are Steve AokiCarnageQUIXRicky RemedyMax StylerR3LLBok Nero, Noise Cans and my personal favorite, TBA. The mini festival will take place at the Brooklyn Mirage on June 10th of this year. Made Event (the same company that throws Electric Zoo) is producing the event. The Brooklyn Mirage is a really cool venue with plants and palm trees everywhere…that’s right…palm trees in NEW YORK CITY. You can’t get much more summer than that. The label throwing the party, DIM MAK, lays claim to launching the careers of Bloc Party, The Bloody Beetroots, The Chainsmokers, Deorro, Keys N Krates and many more. Their goal is to push music and culture by any means necessary.
I’m also going to use this opportunity to promote Steve Aoki and Laidback Luke’s new single, It’s Time, featuring UFC’s own Bruce Buffer. As a fan of UFC, I found this hilarious. I can see myself going crazy at a Vegas beach party to this because Bruce is now in the music business.
