Dirtyphonics – Night Ride EP

dirtyphonics night ride

Dirtyphonics is a French electronic band made up of Charly Barranger, Julien “PitchIn” Corrales and Julien “Pho” Lignon.  In February, the trio release a 3-song EP, Night Ride, of original material on Borgore’s Buygore imprint. The entire EP is fairly different from anything  we’ve heard in the electronic music genre. Night Ride has a cinematic/heavy bass element that sounds haunting and intense at the same time – in a good way. This one really gets running through the anticipation build and hits hard with the bass heavy/dupstep elements for the conclusion or the DROP.

“Beat Dem Up” starts off uplifting with an extra serving of synth that gives us a glimpse of the 80s if Ableton existed back in those days. Then the anticipation build and a lead into dubstep/DnB/utter insanity – in a CRAZY good way.

My personal favorite is “Lost In Your Love.” With help from the United Kingdom’s Example, this track is much more mellow than the previous two. There is a singing bass effect after the drop, that’s utterly unique exquisitely melodic. The bass cuts blend in beautiful with the wobbling synths. “Lost In Your Love” is something new that we’ve heard in an industry where a lot of the sounds have been taken up. True creation!

Dirtyphonics have also come out with a quote for the EP, which we always love to share.

“This EP is the most Hybrid music we’ve released and we are really proud of it! It takes it’s influences in Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Trap and then takes you on a journey through different emotions with Future sounds.
We pushed our own boundaries once again and whether you’re going hard at a show or chilling at home we invite you to follow us for a Night Ride.”
