Friday Feelz – New Me

New Music Playlist 2018

It’s the beginning 2018, which means means people are starting fresh…or so they feel like they’re starting fresh. For many, the end of December is a period of rest and relaxation with the family. It’s a time to reflect on the immediate past (last year), and what can be improved for the future. Where I’m from, we call these “New Years Resolutions.”

Some popular New Years Resolutions are….

  1. Exercise more
  2. Lose weight
  3. Eat more healthily
  4. Take a more active approach to health
  5. Learn new skill or hobby
  6. Spend more time on personal wellbeing
  7. Spend more time with family and friends
  8. Drink less alcohol
  9. Stop smoking

These all sound like great endeavors, and I’ll admit, my motivation certainly is peaked after my rest, relaxation, and family time-off. I want to do all of them, so I’ll just throw them all under the category of “do better.” I’m a believer of creating routines through positive habits, and all of these are certainly positive habits.

I used Robert Downy Jr’s eye roll for the Friday Feelz “New Me” edition because of the amount of times I’ve heard people SAY these resolutions only to break them after the first month. I’d challenge people to always try and create better habits and routines for themselves, and during the New Year is a great time to start that…just keep it going…forever. Do better.

Let me also add, this is my internal monologue.  This is what I tell myself when I slack off from doing better. I struggle a lot at times, but I try to create good habits and routines for myself.

“Don’t just say it, do it!” I tell myself.

Below are 10 songs on Spotify and Soundcloud that I thought did better.
