Blind Contour Collective frontman, DeModa, has released a special VIP remix to his #1 hit song, Downtown Glow featuring Slow Shudder. The New York-based producer/performer/DJ recreated the single using Slow Shudder’s smokey ambient, melancholic, vocals with a completely different instrumentation. The final product transformed the original vocals into a funky, indie-electro song with an upbeat chorus, bright keys, dancing vocal chops, and a super groovy walking bass line. What made this track unique was a crossover of indie electro and funk. The contrast between the naturally dismayed vocals from Slow Shudder and the uplifting, funky nature of the song create an interesting dichotomy that give a message of hope and prosperity when “you can help me.” The message and poetic elements of the track are beautiful, plus the melodies are dope and I can’t stop bobbing my head to this new VIP remix.

The original version of Downtown Glow has gained over 400k streams on Spotify alone recognition from Pretty Lights, Martin Garrix and other popular playlists.

Demoda and Slow Shudder have been some of my favorite new artists, creating bright indie music with super dynamic arrangements. I smell a lot of new music coming from both of these talented artists in 2018. I had the opportunity to interview DeModa a while back. Click the link below to read the full interview.
