Electric Forest Gets Two Weekends

Electric Forest 2017 Mix

Electric Forest is my favorite festival, period. I had the pleasure of attending twice; first, when the festival changed it’s name to ‘Electric Forest’ in 2011, and again in 2012.  From shouting “Where’s Carl?!?!?!” to making friends in the magnificently decorated Sherwood Forrest, the energy in the forest is what made this event so special to me. The vibe is special at Electric Forest. It’s almost like everyone is part of this large family, looking out to make sure everyone is feeling good. There is SPACE TO DANCE! A lot of these festivals can get cramped; however, the vibe at Forest is different, and Forest-goers are appreciative of space.

Sherwood Forest is absolutely stunning. Electric Forest is a music & arts festival. Festivals in New York City don’t need to be so majestic because demand to go to an event in New York is high. To get festival goers to come out to Rothbury, Michigan, the festival curators must create that demand. They have to create a visual, audio, and personal experience of both music & art. Take a look at photos from last year’s festival to see some of the Forest’s extraordinary visuals.

The electronic-and-jam-band-centered festival is run by Madison House Presents and Insomniac and held in Rothbury, Michigan, at the Double JJ Resort. The festival began in 2008 and was called the Rothbury Festival. The name was changed to Electric Forest in 2011.

The festival has run for 7 years (except for  2010), and 2017 is the first time the festival will be held during two weekends, June 22-25 and June 29-July 2.

If you read this and are feeling so inclined, tickets are still on sale for June 29 – July 2. Click here to purchase. I HIGHLY recommend the experience. I will never forget my time in The Forest.

Below, is a mix that rBeatz resident DJ, BRB, has created for the event. The track list is below. Listen to rBeatz Radio this Friday and Saturday for 2 hours of exclusive Electronic Forest mixes.
