Emma Miller – Leaving

Originally catering to a piano-based sound with an ambiguous songwriting style, London-based singer-songwriter Emma Miller’s latest is a departure from all this.  Her second single, in which she is releasing in August, follows the release of her critically acclaimed debut single, “Burning Out,” released back in May.  Trading in the piano for synth keys and incorporating a more personal narrative into her songwriting, Miller teams up this time with Sam Welch and Solomon Oak to create, “Leaving,” a song in which Miller explores the idea of regret in a relationship and all the ‘what-ifs’ that can haunt you over the years.

“Leaving” overall follows through with emotional lyrics and powerful vocalizations.  A blend of soaring synths and layers of electronic music that adds to the dark and haunting element to the over-arching sound.  Layering of melodic harmonies also add a distinct balance to the music nodes.

Emma Miller’s “Leaving,” which will be released on August 4th, is a passionate track wrapped up in synth-based bass lines, harmonic layers of vocals and a great detailed sound.
