Felix Cartal – Hold Tight

Felix Cartal hold tight

Keeping up with the Halloween theme for today, rBeatzRadio presents the creepy new music video for Felix Cartal’s Hold Tight, the B-side track to his recent hit single, Get What You Give (also posted below). Both songs have infectious melodies from smooth vocal chops layered in front of a downtempo house vibe.

Hold Tight has a more resilient feel, encouraging those who are going through tough times to hold tight because there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. The music video showcases some humans painted in all gray, walking around some industrial confine. They don’t seem like they’re doing great, walking around wistfully with little emotion on their faces. Overtime, the music video gets lighter and lighter; however, the video ends with a bit of an unresolved sentiment stating that sometimes all you need is a hug.

Felix sent along a quote…

I liked the Hold Tight phrase, which I sampled from “Get What You Give“, as a theme,” says Felix, “I think embraces are very powerful, and the mood of the song has this sort of unresolved feeling – like we are all searching for a moment of togetherness.”

Both songs spread a message of hope and optimism. They start off a tad somber and the anticipation rises towards a euphoric and consistent light. He’s gained over 45 million streams on Spotify with his complex emotional arrangements. Get What You Give quickly became #1 on Hype Machine’s popular charts.

Felix Cartal is as Canadian DJ/Producer who signed with Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak records after his debut EP, Skeleton, back in 2009. Since then, he toured with Wolfgang Gartner, MSTRKRFT, and Bloody Beetroots along with releasing original music and consistent touring. Follow him on social to catch his North American tour this fall.
