Final State – WAYN? (Where are you now?)

Final State WAYN

When I first listened to this one, I was hooked. The harmony between the vocals and instrumentation made me feel, and the French and English mix was beautiful in tonality and dictation. This is such an emotional, powerful song. While the guitar is meant to put you in a state of trance, the vocals are asking difficult questions. The guitar is mimicking the thought process of the vocals. The track is a dance between the vocals and guitar, but more metaphorically, a dance action and thought to which we can all relate.

Final State has grown quite the following in Quebec’s music scene. The French-Canadian band has toured across the country, playing over 200 live performances. The band is made up of four musicians, Rick Pagano, Mathieu Lortie, Vinc Blackburn & Olivier Bibeau. WAYN? (Where are you now?) is the sneak peak to their forthcoming album that will be released in both English and French.

This song is about the conflict that arises when your significant other in the relationship lets you down. The questions that come up from this conflict are in the verses.
