Foresteater – Pretend Land

Foresteater releases his new single, Pretend Land. I got a Green Day vibe on the hook, which I thought was super catchy. “I don’t pretend to have a plan, like an American.” I love that! The song is about the feeling of hopelessness, reminding us that we’re all humans, making everything up as we go along. With the slightly pessimistic outlook, the harmony of the track is certainly uplifting. This creates a certain satisfied apathy, strumming along as life moves forward. The song has punk and indie rock leanings.

Mikey Pro is the frontman for the Foresteater band. He is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who depicts Foresteater’s vibe as “a band playing on an island in outer-space surrounded by electric rainbows.” Foresteater is Mikey coming to terms with his desire to become a full time artist. In 2015 the band released their debut EP Nightlife of the Exploding Heads. They currently tour the United States with with Grey Smith on Drums and Zak Bracy on Bass. The Phoenix, Arizona based band describes their music as “Candygrunge,” just to piss off hipsters.
