Frank Walker – Footprints (feat. Callum Stewart)
Frank Walker releases his new single, Footprints, featuring Callum Stewart. The electro-pop track has a funky element that reminded me of when Daft Punk’s guitar in Get Lucky. Another parallel to the massively popular French duo is the is use of auto-tune during the hook, adding to the catchy vocal melody. There’s a deep, walking bassline that keeps the hips moving. I’d also categorize this song as contemporary funk in its approach.
The single is pefect for sunny days, stormy nights, feel good vibes, the peak of the party, and dance offs.
Last year, he played on the main stage at Ultra Music Festival (which is coming up this weekend!). He crushed the daytime slot, having released his 24 EP days before his performance. His most recent track gained the attention of Astralwerks, the same label who represents Halsey, Empire of the Sun, The Chemical Brothers, The Avalanches, Lemaitre, Alison Wonderland & more.
Frank Walker focuses most of his productions on the vocals. This is where Ireland-based songwriter, Callum Stewart comes in. His crooning style is perfect for this contemporary funk style. The harmony is flawless! The young singer has performed with Nile Rodgers and Rudimental.
