Full Crate & The Partysquad – HOT feat. Nick & Navi

nick and navi

Full Crate and The Partysquad recently released their newest single, HOT, featuring Nick & Navi. This sassy, island vibe immediately caught my attention due to the fun vocals from Nick & Navi in front of a minimal/downtempo dancehall beat. The Jamaican duo, Nick & Navi, are newcomers to the industry, and they are the nieces of dance-hall legend Shabba Ranks. They are also twins!

Hot was created with the idea of live instrumentation. The entire production sounds like it could have been done with a small band in your living room. This song is great for the right crew, and by the right crew, I mean a crew that can move their hips and have fun. This is a party song for sure. Also great for pregames. The song was released on Diplo’s Mad Decent label.

The Partysquad are a duo from the Netherlands coming off of hot releases on Rebel Yard/Spinnin’ Records: Pum Pum and Lights Out. The Partysquad has had major collaborations with some of the biggest names in music: Major Lazer, Afrojack, and M.I.A.

Just like his name, Full Crate, has brought a variety of music to the table, from electronic R&B all the way to sweaty deep house. He’s mostly known for his productions in dancehall and hip-hop. The Dutch DJ/producer was invited to attend the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid in 2011.
