Hippie Sabotage – Rogues

The slow and ambient vibe took me to a place of peace. The song has has some of that soothing soul in Daisy Guttridge‘s vocals. Drums and vocals make this one, and what a beautiful arrangement it is. The dance between the drums, vocals, low end bass and minimal ambient background synths truly made me have the feeling like I was floating.

Hippie Sabotage are two brothers from Sacramento, California. They began producing in the early 2000s, fusing electronic and hip-hop styles for artists around the northern California area. Spring of 2014 is when their career really took off, when Ellie Goulding posted their iconic remix of  Tove Lo‘s Stay High on her Instagram.

This remix has a fair amount of the elements that we fell in love with on their new release, Rogues. The two brothers certainly have a knack for a solid story in the percussion arrangement. They create a dance between the drums and the vocals. Almost like a waltz. With ambient background synths that accompany an underlying melody. Truly something beautiful to hear because they don’t use as many musical elements/tricks as other producers.
