Jenaux – GIVE IT UP

jenaux give it up

Jenaux releases his new single, GIVE IT UP, following his release, Sentiments, featuring Bryce Fox. The NYC-based, electro-funk producer is all about bringing the funk back. This means adding a modern spin on that old-school, funk bounce we all love. His new single has a bit of a future bass tinge to it.

On GIVE IT UP, I hear that funky guitar from his popular single, Get It On, during the hook. Electronic music with a strong guitar rules, and Jenaux knows how to swing that beat for hip-shaking, inducing electronic music. His vocals have soul to them, and the glitchy sampling really create a dynamic environment throughout. The bassline comes in around 40 seconds, really adding a strong backbone to the arrangement. This becomes more apparent during the hook.  GIVE IS UP is a song for the summer.

Jenaux sent a quote along about the song…

“Sonically I tried to really paint where my love of music really comes from – there’s a bit of the 80s, a lot of the funky 70s, all tied into my love for Justice and Daft Punk. And lyrically, Boy Matthews vividly depicts this love/hate battle with love, as if it’s a drug, and it practically personifies the love itself bringing the record to life.”

Jenaux has worked with such acts as 3LAU, The Chainsmokers, Audien, Gramatik, and more.  In 2018, he plans on creating more original music, stepping away from the remixes that he’s grown so popular with.

He’s performed at Governor’s Ball, Lightning in a Bottle, Camp Bisco, and more. I had a chance to interview the nu disco producer after Governors Ball last year, so…
