Jenaux – Sentiments (feat. Bryce Fox)
Jenaux is an electro-funk producer based out of New York City. Today, he released his new single, Sentiments featuring Bryce Fox. The single is a more downtempo funk-pop song with rock pop style vocals from Bryce Fox. The chorus is filled with ambiance and vocal chops, creating a slow disco haze perfect for pregames, car rides, professing your love to someone else, or Instagram videos of a night out. The song is quite versatile with a unique combination of genres.
Jenaux made this record two years ago, around the same time he made his critically acclaimed single, Get It On (posted below). He’s apparently got a lot more in store that he made a while back. After he released Get It On, he signed to a label, pinning the producer’s ability to release whatever he wanted. He was stuck in an 18 month contract with that label. He’s now out of his contract with a lot of new music coming our way.
I caught his set at Governors Ball and had the opportunity to interview the artist.
One of my favorite songs I’ve covered is Jenaux’s I Want Your Love (also posted below). His style of electronic funk is super authentic, relying a lot on melodic structures and instrument side-chaining, giving his tracks a unique pump. Basically, his arrangements are SUPER funky. There’s also a nostalgia factor, taking it back to the days of disco combined with a modern electronic take. I’m pumped to see what he has in the bank. Release the kraken.
