Kali Uchis – After The Storm (feat. Tyler, The Creator & Bootsy Collins)

Kali Uchis Tyler The Creator

Tyler, the Creator had a big year in 2017. His album, Flower Boy, was critically acclaimed as a top 10 rap album by many publications. One of the singles off the album, See You Again, featured a collaboration with Colombian-American singer/songwriter, Kali Uchis. See You Again was the third most streamed single off Tyler’s Spotify with close to 42 million streams.

The two have teamed up again, this time, with Kali Uchis leading the single. The soulful contemporary R&B track is called After The Storm and features Tyler, The Creator & Bootsy Collins. The old-school R&B vibe give listeners that nostalgia factor with one of the hottest hip-hop artists in the game right now, Tyler, The Creator.

After The Storm has a similar celestial vibe as See You AgainWith an instrumental combining hip-hop and jazz elements, Kali Uchis is given plenty of room to shine. Shoutout to Bootsy Collins for blending the sounds of the 70s with modern day R&B. The harmony between her voice and keys on the chorus has a psychedelic vibe. Tyler’s verse is pitched down a bit, adding to the dynamics in harmony.

Kali Uchi was nominated for Record Of The Year at the Latin Grammys last year for her work on El Ratico with Colombian superstar, Juanes. She is also nominated for Best R&B Performance at this year’s Grammys for Daniel Caesar’s single, Get You, featuring Kali Uchis.
