LAB – Shiloh’s Balloons

Shiloh's Balloons

LAB is a hip-hop duo I’ve been keeping tabs on. They consist of a producer and rapper. The mysterious enigma recently released a project called Shiloh’s Balloons, and there are two singles on here I want to call attention too. The first is called Silk Balloon, a lo-fi hip-hop single that utilizes a pitched down sample with a dynamic percussion arrangement. The rapper on the track can FLOW as well. The entire harmony of the track makes me feel good.

You can listen to this song while chillin’, chillin hard, driving, coolin’ with friends, studying, working, or chillin’ while driving.

The other project is called Lavender Balloon. The single sounds like it uses a reversed sample with dynamic vocal processing on top. The story of the song is well thought out. The minimal, celestial environment with a powerful kick make this song great for chillin’.

The two songs below are examples of an ambiance and space that I listen for on hip-hop instrumentation. These two artists have skill, and I’m hoping they continue to build out their brand.
