LIV† fuckery

LIV† is a singer/songwriter with that soul flow and real vibe that gives me notes of Erykah Badu. The production around the track by Seattle producers, Soultanz, create a fantastic vibe around the vocals of LIV†. She was born to create, and that sentiment resonates in her sound. The song is called Fuckery. I like her second definition of fuckery, that states, “Something that comes with being in love,” denoting the meaning in the lyrics of being in a love/hate relationship…or maybe any relationship.

This style of contemporary R&B has really been jiving with me lately. The arrangements and sounds have elements of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, soul, and pop that really focus on the dance between the vocals and instrumentation. The harmonies between the voice and sounds underneath are subtle, but also just as important.

I’d consider LIV† similar to other artists in this area TeaMarrrBrika, Kehlani, Marian Hill, and H.E.RShe released her EP, 5 Summers., this summer, showcasing her vocal range and experimenting with different producers.

I really like this project and hope her and Soultanz continue creating together.
