Louis The Child – Shake Something (feat. Joey Purp)

Louis the Child releases Shake Something, featuring Joey Purp. Another one from the duo out of Chicago?!?! Yes, these two are touring and releasing songs like hot cakes. They’ve released an EP with Whethan and two singles this month, all while touring. Clockwork.

Shake Something combines elements of slow hip-hop burner music with those synths we all know and love from Louis The Child. The contrast between the hook and Joey Purps verse is stark, clearly demonstrating both artists’ vibe.

Joey Purp is a another Chicago native, having collaborated with some of Chicago’s greatest modern rappers, Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa.

The single shows Louis The Child’s continued versatility in music. Even in this last month, they’ve created some really experimental electronic music to hip-hop soul. That diversity in sound make them sound cultured in an industry where diversity is sexy.

The single is perfect for driving slow while blasting music, dodgeball, dance battles, on repeat at pregames, nodding your head at the club, batting practice. sailing the seven seas, visiting the north pole, manual labor, mornings, Trap Tuesdays, and any Instagram video of yourself drawing on your friend face while they’re passed out.
