Louis The Child & Whethan – Honey EP
Whethan again?!?! Yes. But this time, it’s with Louis The Child. Freddy Kennett from Louis The Child and Ethan Snoreck, aka Whethan, were friends in high school. All three are based out of Chicago, making it easy to understand their new EP collab. You can also hear each of their influences on the EP, Honey.
Listening through, I can’t help but be reminded of Flume. With distinct, electronic melodies playing off each other, dynamic drum arrangements, and synthtastic landscapes, the EP is a sonic journey that tells the story between three successful, up-and-coming producers. There are no vocals throughout the entire EP, giving me an authentic, writing session feel. The EP is, thus, raw with synth sounds one might be familiar with if they listen to Louis The Child and Whethan often.
The EP starts of sweet like Honey, then dives into their more dark-bass heavy sides. The EP comes on the verge of Louis The Child’s European tour with special guest, Whethan. If you see they’re playing in a city near you, I highly suggest you go. Both these young acts are two of the biggest up-and-comers in the game right now.
