Marcioz – How to Make Love $tay
San Holo’s label, bitbird, is making huge moves. I’m not sure about business or numbers or anything like that, I’m speaking strictly musically. Laidback Luke recently made a statement about sound design, saying “Knowing how to design sound is a luxury, not a necessity. It’s fun, but you’ll always suck compared to the professionals that design presets.” San Holo recently responded to Laidback Luke’s comments, nicely timed for the drop of a great example of beautiful sound design in Marcoiz‘ How to Make Love $tay.
Knowing how to design sounds and create my own synths has been so important to me as a musician / producer!
don’t listen to people who say you will always suck “compared to professionals” https://t.co/IEXYuVF2Q9

This statement of San Holo’s resonates with me. What even further emphasizes his point is the dropping of Marcoiz’ new EP, How to Make Love $tay. THIS is forward-thinking electronic music, and Marcoiz’ third EP release off San Holo’s bitbird label. He plays beautifully with unique arrangements boarding classical music. The quality of the sound design on his big synth movements are beautiful, and the harmonies sound like what a good dream feels like. It’s an emotional EP, filled with unexpected narratives that keep you guessing what will come next.
Click here to hear my thoughts on his song with Slow Shudder. Spoiler alert: I think it’s amazing. I’m loving EVERYTHING about the bitbird squad right now.
Marcoiz’ is a Brazilian electronic composer. That’s what I think I’ll call him from now on.
I’m completely copying what my friend, Shreyansh, said on Facebook, but.. “follow Marcoiz’ now so you can feel good about it when seeing him close out Madison Square Garden b2b Hans Zimmer in 2020.”
