Mia Vaile & James Mercy – Wildfire

Mia Vaile & James Mercy

Lowly Palace is one of my favorite independent music labels right now. They consistently promote good artists and they have cool artwork. The song below is called, Wildfire, sung by Mia Vaile and produced by James Mercy. Mia’s voice hits immediately, giving me that authentic and soulful atmosphere that I always ramble about. Then around the 0:14 mark there is a harmony that got me to fall in LOVE with this one. James brings in those gritty/deep 808 kicks that give Mia’s voice a rawness to it.

The drop of the song also contains those gritty 808s with the addition of some melodic horns that take the overall production to the next level. This song is BIG and small at the same time with Mia’s intimate vocals. Simply put, I’m obsessed with the harmony created by the singer and producer. It’s difficult these days to find that kind of harmony, and Lowly Palace does this consistently.

Mia Vaile is a singer/songwriter from Florida and James Mercy is from Canada. Mia Vaile was originally in the band Veorra. She split up with the group to follow her own career as a solo artists, and we’re happy she did. All she has to do is find producers who can find that harmony with her vocals, and as far as I can hear, this release hit the nail on the head.
