Mr Gabriel – Help Me Out

Mr Gabriel Help Me Out

Nashville’s Mr Gabriel released his new single, Help Me Out. The single had a hypnotic percussive arrangement with a unique saw sound that moves into a lazy bass line and idol whistling that give the song a unique, easy listening ambiance. I was drawn immediately by the intro, with a reversed percussion samples that I simply haven’t heard before. The transitions are flawless, moving effortlessly on top of each other.

The contrast between the lyrics and arrangement are interesting. The lyrics are that of a love song, and the arrangement has a more apathetic, careless feel. The entire song is an ode to death. Dark and beautiful at the same time.

The artist sent a quote along with the song’s theme…

“Death is the ultimate lover that’s been waiting MY whole life to hold ME…it’s a bit strange. There is a peace and an aching in that kind of romance.”
