Mr Gabriel – MILLENNIAL FALCON

mr gabriel MILLENNIAL FALCON

Nashville’s Mr Gabriel gave me the willies on their alternative rock track, Millennial Falcon. Specifically, the gritty guitar sound which made it seem like Mr. Gabriel was in the room with me. The transition at 1:08 reminded me of something Queen or Kanye would do. I LOVED the anticipation vocals from 1:02 to 1:08 – it’s like I didn’t see the chorus coming. The indie-pop vocals combined with this punk-rock and almost electronic feel created a unique space for my ears. Their effortless candor throughout the arrangement made me wonder who IS Mr Gabriel? Everything from the guitar recording to the songwriting and arrangement sounds super professional. The song features Gabe from Kopecky Family band and Mark Pontius from Foster the People. THERE’s your answer.

The song is a bit of a stab at our cultures voyeuristic obsession with social media and glamour. “Millennial falcon of my dreams, are you real or just a fantasy?” I love the raw grit from this new group. I’m pumped to hear what they come out with next. This song is perfect for karaoke, jousting, head-banging in the car with your friends, olympic weightlifting, throwing all your ex’s stuff out of your window, competitive eating, channeling your work anger, shopping sprees, and watching Croce “Operator” meets the Tom Tom Club on a bender on an Instagram video loop.
