Neo Noir – When Ur Gone (feat. Nikki Flores)

Neo Noir When Ur Gone

Neo Noir comes out with their 4th release on the independent music label, Lowly Palace. Their new single is When Ur Gone with vocalist Nikki Flores, who released her debut album, XII XV, last year with production from Lana Del Rey and Keyshia Cole’s guitarist/producer, Blake Lee.

The plucked bass in When Ur Gone, along with the serene smooth vocals from Nikki, create a nice contrast that adds to Neo Noir’s infamous wide-ambiance production techniques.

In my ears, Neo Noir are crushing the future bass/trap game. Their percussion and ambiance game are cinematic. Check out 1:25 for a big climax in their percussion story. Then, at the end of the chorus, the high-hat rolls off and provides such a nice conclusion to the scene. Every time I listen to Neo Noir, I’m thinking these guys need to skip the festival game and go straight into movies; though, they should be able to create a BIG spectacle around their sound.

Neo Noir is comprised of two professional producers, Bradley Allan and Greg Ogan, both of whom have worked with a variety of high-profile musicians and publishers. There’s a difference between a bedroom producer and individuals working full time in the industry; Neo Noir is the latter. We’ll be keeping our ears to the ground with these guys, and I suggest you do the same.
