NRVS LVRS – Lost to the Max

Hailing from San Francisco, NRVS LVRS (pronounced “Nervous Lovers”) is the dreamy darkwave project of husband and wife duo Andrew Gomez and Bevin Fernandez.  Smart lyrics and dreamy layering harmonies makes it transparent the pop duo’s influences.  Citing influences from acts like Massive Attack, Can, and Kate Bush, NRVS LVRS’ intense blend of electro pop elements is similar to The Knife, Bat for Lashes, or Crystal Castles.

Like the anticipation of new romance or the start to a relationship, “Lost to the Max” starts out on the precipice of dreamy pop, soaring synths and a steady electronic beat.  Haunting and electric, the single sonically flavors blends of electronica, indie pop and rock.  With an atmospheric aerial feel to the song, the mellow vocals and electric bass lines add a thoughtful and pensive layer to the lyrics.  Reverberating vocals add an echoing quality to the already dynamic vocals of Gomez and Hernandez, which builds and lifts to give the track more dramatic effect.

During their career, NRVS LVRS has opened for such acts like Jagwar Ma and Telekinesis and received critical praise from PopMatters and Noisey.  During the summer of 2016, they spent their time recording new music with producer Larry Crane at Jackpot! Studio in Portland.  2017 sees them with the release of their sophomore album, Electric Dread.
