Oli Hannaford – Lust EP

Oli Hannaford lust

Oli Hannaford releases his new EP, Lust. I was intrigued by the complex environment of the EP titled track. The use of delay and reverb create a unique vocal space that creates an air of melancholy. The single is about the feelings you get after returning home from a night out. The entire song is like a depressive haze, which illustrates coming home after an exiting night out. Oli’s previous track, Berry Gin, was about disassociating yourself from reality on a night out.  Thus, Lust, is the sequel to his previous single.

Running Slow has that UK R&B vibe that reminds me a bit of Petrie. There’s a push and pull between the faster instruments like the xylophone, synths, high hats, and drums and the slower instruments like the ambiance, vocals, and piano. That push and pull sound like someone running slow.
