Patawawa – Bedroom EP
Patawawa is at the top of my favorite nu disco artists. Their effortless disco vibe sound like it comes natural to the trio from Matlock. They recently released their debut EP, Bedroom, off the French imprint SPLINTER. One of my favorite tracks off the EP is Song For Sam, which has Sam’s vocals front and center behind a melancholic-disco ambiance. It’s more downtempo than the rest of the songs off the EP, showing a different emotional side to the group’s normally uplifting tone.
The bass lines and shimmering guitar are Patawawa’s bread and butter. These elements backed with a house vibe create a modern spin to those nostalgic disco vibes.
The band has topped the Hypem popular charts numerous times. They’ve earned support from the likes of BBC 6 Music, Adidas, H&M and Abercrombie & Finch along with a collaboration with French producer Ted Cazey, earning the group over 4 million plays on Spotify.
The EP is perfect for easy listening, car rides along the coast, road trips across the country, pegames, late night dance parties, studying mathematics or any other numbers-based courses, data input at work, escaping your emotions, dance cooking, wine nights staying in, relaxing with friends, hanging out on the beach, staring off into space, flash mobbing, valentines day with your significant other, or any Instagram video making your followers jealous of a sunny boat party.
