Portugal. The Man – Feel It Still (Coldabank Remix)

Feel It Still Coldabank

A new feature on rBeatzRadio is a remix done by Coldabank of Portugal. The Man’s Feel It Still, and it’s SO HOT! I mean, the original itself is fire on its own with its funky bass line, high octave and relaxed vocals from band frontman John Gourley, a simple percussion arrangement, and a horn section for extra funk. The song is currently peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Portugal. The Man along with Atlantic Records released a remix competition for the song on Wavo, and due to it’s minimal and simple nature, there have been so many good remixes to come from these stems. They’ve officially released three remixes. One with Zhu, one with Gryffin, and one with a lesser known artist, Coldabank, which we’ve added to the rBeatzRadio lineup, and it’s my personal favorite.

Coldabank is a London based electronic dance artist who’s debut single, Lovin’ You, was released early this summer, and has amassed close to 5 million streams on Spotify. He grew popularity with remixes for Rudimental, Clean Bandit and Charli XCX. He recently signed with Atlantic and released this FIRE remix of Portugal. The Man’s chart toping hit.

Coldabank’s remix is able to maintain the apathetic/chill nature of the original song with added features such as the flute, a bigger anticipation build, and groovy vocal chops that had my brain exploding when I first heard it. The flute is also such a nice high end melodic addition to help accompany Gourley’s high octave voice. A bit more energy on this one and so well made.
