Ruben Young – Running For You

Ruben Young Running for you

Canadian R&B artist, Ruben Young releases his second single, gearing up for his first EP, The Bad Habits, and it’s FIRE! The bass phrasing around his sultry vocals really creates a dynamic atmosphere that made this song sound super 3-D. The song is about a forbidden love that took 7 years of Ruben’s adulthood. The emotions are apparent in this, and the instrumentation (aside from his vocals) really follows along with his ups and downs. The mark of a great producer. The production has a Flume like movement to the arrangement.

This is something a lot of people can relate to. The vulnerable struggle with self worth while continuously chasing someone who disappoints you over and over again. Beautiful music in sadness is the epicenter of many great artists. The listeners become thankful for the sacrifice.

After success from his debut single, Take Her Down, Ruben looks to continue his streak and take his craft to the next level. We’re looking forward to hearing what he’ll come up with next.
