A few weeks ago, LA-based producer Smooth Blaq unveiled Sade, a new single that’s expected to be included in his self-titled project Smooth Blaq. The record features Detroit rapper Zoh. Both artists have a pretty impressive track record, with Smooth Blaq having songs featured both on the big & small screen and Zoh being noted as a talented songwriter for Hip Hop legends such as Snoop Dogg.

Smooth Blaq who is also responsible for Tyler Sellars Slave For Your Love, shows off his versatility and range in production. Opting for a trap-inspired single with thumping 808s in addition to smooth sounding keys. Sade is a short body of work that leaves you wanting more (thank goodness for the repeat button, right?) The single allows Blaq to showcase his versatility and have his expansive production skills on display, proving that he’s not just a “one genre” type of producer.

As summer rapidly approaches with warmer weather and sunny skies, one can only hope to include a single or two blessed from Smooth Blaq’s self-titled project. But since that release date is unknown, Sade is a nice taste and reminder of what hopefully is to come.
