Valentino Khan & Sean Paul – Gold

Valentino Khan & Sean Paul Gold

An artist that we feature often on rBeatzRadio is Valentino Kahn. He recently collaborated with a pioneer of dancehall music in the United States, Sean Paul, on their new track, Gold. Their new single combines Valentino Khan’s signature low octave synth work combined with a groovy swing from Sean Paul’s naturally gliding vocals. The chorus of the song features high octave vocal chops that contrast nicely with Sean Paul’s voice. This song helps bring moombahton into the pop space.

Valentino Khan really started to take form in my ears after his massively popular hit off Skrillex’s label, OWSLA, Deep Down Low. It was the most played song by DJs in 2015 according to 1001 Tracklists.

You all should know who Sean Paul is, but here’s a fun fact: His single, Get Busy (2003), was the first dancehall single to reach the #1 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Gold is set to be featured in the soundtrack to Major Lazer’s upcoming documentary, Give Me Future.

Valentino Khan even sent us a quote about the track…

“I wanted to make a really fun and danceable moombahton record. I had started out producing moombahton when I first entered the dance music scene, and it was cool to revisit my roots and make a great record with a really good vibe to it.”

This single is coming on the verge of Khan’s headline tour. See dates below to catch his live set. Billboard has hailed his music as “the kind of beat that should come
with a warning. This is the kind of crunchy rhythm that has you blacking out, like, ‘Wait, what did I just do on the floor?’
