YouTooCanWoo is Going Strong in 2018

YouTooCanWoo night out 2-min

I had the pleasure to hit up YouTooCanWoo’s Night Out at Mercury Lounge in New York City this weekend. Just like anything the French Horn Rebellion led label puts on, it was a blast. Other artists featured that night were Janelle Kroll, Glassio, Deidre & the Dark, Abby Diamond, Pink Flamingo Rhythm Revue, Rocket Pengwin, and DeModa. The YouTooCanWoo label is getting together a strong community of artists, and the dance party is always groovy.

Two of the artists that I wanted to highlight in this post were Pink Flamingo Rhythm Revue and Deidre & the Dark seeing as they’re signed to the YouTooCanWoo label and have recently come out with new projects that I’m digging.

Pink Flamingo Rhythm Revue

Today, Pink Flamingo Rhythm Revue who is former Ghost Beach band member, Eric “Doc” Mendelsohn, released a single called Money.  It was co-written by Deidre Muro from Deidre & the Dark. The single features Eric’s high-pitched funky vocals – wow, can he get up there!

Last month, he released his self-titled, debut EP, which is a great listen for you funky disco heads out there. Pink Flamingo Rhythm Revue is perfect for risky business dancing, late night dance parties, discoing past 3am, pregames, waiting for the bus or subway, driving along the coastline, melting the hearts of others with your dance moves, cooking dessert, anything involved with chocolate, dancing at the gym instead of working out, data entry at your 9-5, or any Instagram video of a planned out dance routine.

Deidre & the Dark

Deidre & the Dark recently released two single that I was really digging. The first is Tell Me, which gave me an old-school psychedelic rock vibe with certain elements of punk in the instrumentation. It was a nice combination of newer-school indie rock using classical elements to create a pleasant atmosphere.

Her other single, Come On, has a more upbeat vibe reminiscent to 80s pop. The vocal melodies on this one are super catchy. The entire vibe Deidre is putting on remind me of a more uptempo Enya.
