ZAE – F.W.U.

ZAE is a London-based artist who combines R&B with some island vibes on her recent release, F.W.U. The track combines ZAE’s ethereal, smooth vocals with a unique arrangement of electronic sounds and high-end percussion elements. There are bouts of gospel, demonstrating the artists’ ability to mix genres.

The single is perfect for picking yourself up when you’re down, feeling nostalgic, pregames, zoning out at work, silent movies, watering your plants, fishing, prepping for a night out, couch potatoes, dancing in hotel lobbies, serenading, breaking up, feeling empowered, and any Instagram video of yourself strutting down the sidewalk.

She sent a quote along with the track…

“I wrote this song about the reluctance I sometimes feel when sharing something personal with new people. It’s easier to hide certain things about yourself rather than be open and deal with the fact that the other person might not react the way you want them to. But in the end, when you have pride in who you are, the right people gravitate to that and you realize that you don’t owe anyone an explanation.”
