Pay Attention to This Group of Artists: ZiG
NYC-based electro-funk collective ZiG have released their new track, Paris. If you’re paying attention, add ZiG to your “artist’s to watch” list. The group is in proximity to Chance The Rapper, and has many more tracks lined-up for the near future. The talented collective have been focusing on music for years as a group of classically trained musicians, and have just now begun their marketing efforts.
Take a look below at a quote from Chance The Rapper’s management on ZiG’s music.
“We listened through the beats & they were amazing. If you have any other beats you want to send, myself [sic] and his manager Pat have been compiling a folder for his next project. I believe Chance’s favorite off the drive was the one called ‘for chano.'”
Paris is released a bit after the successful release of Taylor Bennett‘s hit single, Neon Lights, featuring Lil Yachty, which ZiG produced. Baeble Music had this to say about the track, “Sitting still while listening is nearly impossible. After this incredible track, I’ve got a feeling that we’ll be seeing a lot more of ZiG in the future.”
ZiG also released an album, ZiG Vol. 1, which, I am assured, was nothing compared to what the collective has coming up next. In my humble opinion, the album was AMAZING! This really shows the importance of marketing for young musicians. This guy has the gift, and we’re just waiting for the right promotion strategy. We’ve also added his album below his new song, so you can appreciate the funkiness, soul, masterful production, dynamic arrangement, and groovy melodies.
ZiG are a live electronic funk band that blends modern production with old-school arrangements. They derive their inspiration from Miles Davis and the Roots, among other notable soul, funk, R&B, electronic, jazz and hip-hop acts. Genre blending is the future, and ZiG is musically ahead of the pack.
The members of ZiG’s all graduated from NYU: Jonathan Zighelboim (head composer, executive producer), Jon Schneider (keys, producer), Marlon Fischer (producer, engineer), Nic Hanson (writer), Kaileigh Grande (vox), Tarion Taylor (vox), Elia Esperanza (vox), Quintin Zoto (guitar), Reggie Thomas Jr. (drums), and Jake Strauss (bass). They have worked with Thomas Jack, Chiddy Bang, Luke Christopher, Victor Porfidio, Instrum, Taylor Bennett, and Lil Yachty.
If you’re a music discoverist, you MUST have ZiG on your radar.
