ZiG – Green Garden Street ft. Kaileigh

ZiG Kaileigh

One of my favorite new group of artists right now is, ZiG, recently released their new single, Green Garden Street featuring Kaileigh. Their new song is in this week’s Pump It Or Dump It on Twitter, deciding what new artist (or group of artists) gets play on rBeatzRadio

I recently caught the New York-based funk collective at Piano’s in the Lower East Side. See the video below of Nic Hanson and Kaileigh harmonizing beautifully, and Jonathan Zighelboim crushin it on the sax.

The single below is a collaboration between the NYU Acapella group N’Harmonics and ZiG, a collective containing various NYU music grads.

The vocals are sung by Kaileigh, who can be seen in the video above. The song is a cover, originally sang by Laura Mvula. You immediately hear N’Harmonics backing vocals right off the bat before giving lead to Kaileigh powerful soulful vocals with a backing piano chord progression. N’Harmonics then harmonize with Kaileigh to provide a powerful chorus with a disco/pop vibe. The ZiG collective KNOW how to arrange their instruments very well around vocals. They create super dynamic arrangements and the productions are on point…watch out for this group of talented musicians in the future.

Green Garden Streets keeps the ZiG collective going, recently having producing Taylor Bennett‘s hit single, Neon Lights, featuring Lil Yachty earlier this year.
