Age is not a barrier to these young ladies – meet the Linda Lindas. A shocking combination of punk, power pop, soul rocking, and fiery talent. This multi-national group of young female artists puts their musical talent on the front-line of hot current topics.
“The Linda Lindas first played together as members of a pickup new wave cover band of kids assembled by Kristin Kontrol (Dum Dum Girls) for Girlschool LA in 2018 and then formed their own garage punk group just for fun.,” as written in their artist bio on Epitaph Records. Following this, the band lineup was set, and songs were written. Compositions sporting hard-hitting drums, electrifying guitar, bass, and edgy vocals emerged. Not all bands have music producer fathers, but this group sure does. He has worked not only with them but also with bands like Paramore, Jimmy Eat World, Bad Religion, and more.
“When the pandemic put a pause on shows, The Linda Ladies went on to self-release a four-song EP, make their own videos, and grow a following beyond Los Angeles. Their performance of ‘Racist, Sexist Boy’ in the LA Public Library in May 2021 got them a first chance at a tv show. Other songs in the band’s catalog cover social issues such as voting and ending homelessness. Up next, The Linda Ladies hope to perform live more often and of course record more new music. Their current self-titled EP is out now. (Epitaph Records, 2022).
