Meet Fox N’ Vead
This up and coming band out of Concord, NC. You could say they’re a blend of country and rock, but there’s more going on here. The songwriting of frontmen, guitarists and vocalists, Logan Fox and Christian Vead give a solid backbone for Ashton Redd, drummer and Landon Almond, bass player to “create the sauce” so to speak. In our latest interview, we discussed their collaborative methods and it’s clear they’ve got a good thing going. The band is gaining traction on the music scene week after week, playing with acts like Colt Ford, Everclear and Kameron Marlowe, AND selling out their own headlining shows. Besides the band’s natural chemistry, talent and hilarity, it’s clear that there is a hunger and work ethic that’s yielding results.
Their discography consists of several singles, an EP and full length album released between June of 2022 up until currently. You can hear the evolution of their sound dipping in and out of most spectrums of country, leaning into pockets of rock, alt, folk, and blues.
Their full length album, Coulda Been Something, kicks off with the strong title track that gives us a twangy, ominous verse that breaks into a full, overdriven chorus with strong vocals that you really can’t help but get into.
‘Marlboro Girl’ brings a a wicked energetic, Nirvana-esque rock flavor to lineup. Track 3, ‘Another Lie I Told’, is a medium tempo ballad that features more r&b style vocal riffs in the verse with an insanely catchy chorus and sweet Easter egg of a bridge. ‘Cashin In’ immediately brings your energy up, the kind of classic style country that your feet start moving to without a second thought.
One of the band’s most popular songs, ‘Holy Water’, brings more soul style vocals into the mix, featuring strong chorus harmonies. Another completely infectious tune. Track 6, ‘All On My Own’, is the tender spot of the album, with a beautiful space created with the choice in production. Brushes on the drums, a crisp acoustic guitar, minimal but poignant electric guitar lines complimenting the vocal. The honesty in this song is powerful and is executed masterfully. The album closes with a live cut of ‘Hurricane’, breaking out some Skynyrd vibes with a guitar solo that absolutely takes off, to a wildly badass drum solo, built back into the full blown jam.
What a blast. The whole album, this band, their energy. Do yourself a favor and get tickets to see these guys. It’s a guaranteed good time.
