Holly Gainsboro, founder of Golden Heart Grief Support & Education, is a Grief Support Specialist & Grief Educator. Holly’s late husband, Steven, died in December 2010, from glioblastoma. Her depth of understanding brain tumors, the effects they have not only on patients but families, as well, enables her to be fully present for others experiencing various losses. Holly notes that grievers don’t need to be fixed, they need to be heard, seen, and supported.
In 2014, Holly began her work in the grief field by earning her certification as a Grief Recovery Specialist. She didn’t stop there as she continued her studies and became an Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist through the Grief Recovery Institute, followed by certifications as a Grief Educator from world renowned grief expert, David Kessler, and a Grief Support Specialist from the University of Wisconsin, and is preparing to train with another well-known grief expert, Claire Bidwell Smith.
Holly knows how important it is to continue to learn and grow in order to provide the most meaningful support for those who are grieving. Holly works 1:1 with women who have lost a loved one to a brain tumor, facilitates grief support groups, leads grief education workshops for various organizations, and is a gifted public speaker. She is the co-host of the podcast Creating Space for Grief & Hope.
