Mr. Mota

Blending laid-back rock grooves with island-inspired reggae rhythms, Mr. Mota delivers feel-good music with heart, humor, and soul. Originally formed in Boulder, Colorado, the four-piece band — Will Rosenthal (guitar/vocals), Jake Young (drums), and brothers Ari and Max Lerman (bass/vocals) — now call Austin, Texas home. What started as a college jam band quickly grew into a full-fledged project, fusing reggae, rock, blues, and funk into a sound that’s uniquely their own.

Since their debut single “Smoke Too Much,” Mr. Mota has built a loyal following through high-energy live shows and genre-bending collaborations. Their latest projects include the Jam N Mota EP with Puerto Rican rapper Jamby El Favo and the sun-soaked single “Hot Box,” released in partnership with lifestyle brand Dime Bags. Produced by Grammy-winner Mariano Aponte, “Hot Box” captures the spirit of late-night drives, friendship, and the freedom that comes with chasing what you love.

Now based in “the live music capital of the world,” Mr. Mota continues to expand their sound and their reach. Whether playing backyard jams or headlining national tours, their message remains the same — feel good, spread love, and let the music move you.
