“I’m thrilled to be here. My journey started as a single mom on welfare, and I worked my way up to leading a $100 million company. My book, Behind the Screen, explores how to overcome unconscious behavior patterns and self-limiting beliefs. I’m passionate about helping others see their potential and transform their lives.”
What led you to write Behind the Screen, and what message does it carry for readers?
“The book focuses on what I call the “lens of life,” which is our unique perspective shaped by our beliefs and experiences. This lens can be clouded by past hurts or trauma. Behind the Screen teaches readers to clean and shift this lens to create a new, empowered vision of themselves and their future.”
Many struggle with anxiety and depression, especially after the pandemic. How does your work address these issues?
“Mental health struggles often come from negative thought loops that get stuck in our subconscious. We think over 60,000 thoughts a day, most of which are negative and based on past experiences. My method helps people break free from these thought patterns by gaining mental clarity, reconnecting with their inner power, and creating a vision for change.”
Transformation takes time and effort. How do you teach people to stay consistent with this work?
“I encourage clients to take baby steps every day and not skip any steps. True transformation is about committing to the process, staying present, and taking consistent action. It’s not an overnight change but a daily commitment to align thoughts and actions with one’s vision.”
Could you share some steps from the seven-step strategy in your book?
“Sure. The seven steps include:
- Notice – Recognize recurring behavior patterns.
- Tag It – Identify when these patterns started in your life.
- Feel It – Allow yourself to process emotions, rather than suppressing them.
- Flip It – Shift your perspective on past events to find the silver lining.
- Release It – Let go of limiting beliefs or grudges that keep you stuck.
- Reprogram – Replace negative beliefs with empowering ones.
- Resonance – Align your energy and actions with your new vision.”
How important is creating a vision for oneself?
“It’s vital. Knowing what you want to create in life is foundational. Once you’re clear on your vision, everything else falls into place. I always ask clients, “What would you love?” When you envision your ideal life in detail, it becomes much easier to take the steps to achieve it.”
Social media often showcases people’s highlight reels, which can lead to feelings of inadequacy. How do you address this?
“Social media can be deceptive. It’s crucial to remember that real transformation doesn’t happen overnight and isn’t always glamorous. The key is showing up every day and doing the work—there are no shortcuts.”
You mention three keys to creating a dream life. Can you break those down?
“The three keys are:
- Vision – Define what your ideal life looks like in detail.
- Decision – Make decisions aligned with your vision, not your current conditions.
- Action – Take small, daily steps toward your vision, trusting the process even when progress seems slow.”
