From Louisiana Overnights to Charlotte Radio
TJ Ritchie joins Local Music Somewhere for a laid-back conversation with Greazy Keyz about the career path that took him from Louisiana overnights to one of Charlotte’s most recognizable radio voices. TJ talks about getting his start in 1991 at KQID, meeting Ace, building the chemistry behind The Ace & TJ Show, and what it means to stay consistent in broadcasting across multiple eras of media. The episode also touches family, perspective, and the current chapter of TJ’s podcasts and radio show. It’s a real conversation about longevity, personality, and the work that goes into staying relevant behind the mic.

I’m 56 years old, have been married for 31 years (wife Jodi), 2 kids (daughter Lanie is 26 and son Aiden is 23). Born and raised in Louisiana. College dropout. Started in radio in doing overnights in 1991 at a Top 40 station called KQID in Alexandria, LA. That’s where Ace and I met and formed The Ace & TJ Show. We moved markets a few times and landed in Charlotte at KISS 95.1 in April of 1998.
