Kharii is a multitalented rapper and recording artist making rap music with heart and grit. Currently based in Memphis, TN, she makes urban hip-hop with a unique flow and positive vibe. This independent artist has released some great music over recent months, including the single “Pretty Girl Perks.”
Early story and music career
Kharii grew up in Gloucester, MA, in a world that was always surrounded by music. She discovered rap through her older brother at a young age and learned to love everything about hip-hop culture. When family issues were getting her down during her teenage years, Kharii turned to creative pursuits and discovered her talent for rapping.
Like many young people at the time, Kharii was heavily inspired by Eminem’s lyrics and flow. After diving deeper into the scene, she learned to appreciate the likes of J. Cole, NF, and Joyner Lucas. Kharii started making remixes in 2019, releasing them on YouTube and learning some production tricks along the way. She also started singing a cappellas on Instagram and performing spit verses on TikTok over beats from other artists.
Kharii infuses her music with lessons from life, including spiritual wisdom from Buddhist texts and psychedelics. She enjoys writing thoughtful lyrics and considers herself a holistic rapper with a positive message. Kharii’s music has an undeniable urban grit, but it also covers subjects like meditation, biohacking, and the law of attraction. She’s been a big fan of motivational speeches since high school, and some of that energy is channeled directly into her music.
Pretty Girl Perks & Six Prospect Street
On her latest self-released single, “Pretty Girl Perks,” Kharii keeps it real and raw with a deep beat and swift flow. This track celebrates Kharii’s girlfriend and their special relationship. When she raps, “Okay, she a flirt, and it’s driving me berserk,” you know immediately what this song is all about. “Pretty Girl Perks” also has a fun music video, with Kharii delivering the goods in her authentic home-made style.
Kharii’s current project is an album called Six Prospect Street. It will present a different side of the artist, exploring territory far removed from new age wisdom and spirituality. According to Kharii herself, “This is more of a deep dive into things that I haven’t told anyone about. It’s also a much more gritty, real rap album, telling stories I think my audience will be surprised to hear.”
If you want to stay in the Kharii loop, keep your eyes and ears locked on her Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook accounts.
