About Me – Coughing Dove
Coughing Dove is Charlotte, North Carolina based artist Nicholas Holman + friends. Coughing Dove is currently Nicholas Holman on vocals and guitar, Wes Hamilton on pedal steel, Vince D’Ambrosio on bass, Ian Pasquini on fiddle, and Nathan Matthews on drums.
Rooted in a mess of jangly pop, rattly sound experiments and dusty fingerpicked surrealist folk, a recent turn toward left field country on “You & Me Lee” makes for entrancing, panoramic storytelling. Coughing Dove’s upcoming album “Need You Star” goes further down the rabbit hole of a deconstructed country band, embracing texture and feel over genre specifics.
Coughing Dove began as a solo outlet for Nicholas Holman formerly a member of the bands Landless, Serfs, Pullover and others.
