About Me – Lori Petty
As far back as I can remember, I had a connection to the other side. As an only child they were always referred to as my “imaginary friends” but somewhere inside I knew that to not be entirely true. I also always felt that I was here to do something really important, yet had no concept of what that really meant.
My passion for astrology and spiritual wisdom emerged through my own healing journey. These profound tools have deeply supported my personal growth and opened my eyes to the incredible insight held within us and our charts. They’ve helped me uncover my patterns, purpose, and potential—and now, I’m passionate about helping others do the same.
In 2013 I was reunited with my daughter who I had to give up for adoption when she born. In 2014 she disconnected our relationship due to my alcoholism. In mid 2014 I quit drinking and have maintained that ever since. Looking back, 2017 was the beginning of my big shift, what many refer to as a spiritual awakening. I went through a divorce, worked in a toxic corporate environment and had many challenging issues seem to arise out of nowhere.
2018 was another big year full of transition. I had my 3rd near death experience which I believe was also a Kundalini Awakening. I left the corporate world. My health was garbage. I suffered from a mystery auto immune illness that had my entire body covered in welts that were severely painful. I visited over 5 different types of doctors who ran a myriad of tests and could not clearly diagnose the illness. I know all of these experiences were catalysts that led me on my own spiritual journey. I finally followed my heart and at the end of 2018 I made a big shift into reading tarot professionally, answering the call of a 30 + year passion.
Today I can proudly say that I am an intuitive tarot card reader and certified Reiki practitioner. I incorporate my knowledge of astrology and numerology during readings. I often connect to the other side during readings as well.
My mission is to help educate others and also to help them remember who they are, reclaim their power, and navigate their path with clarity and heart.
Childhood Gifts and Corporate Detour
“I spent 25 years in corporate,” Lori shares, noting that many are surprised by this. Her intuitive gifts, however, trace back to childhood. “When I was born, I was super intuitive and I saw people that weren’t there… they were referred to as my imaginary friends.”
A turbulent upbringing led to emotional challenges and trauma that would later serve her purpose. “Everything I went through was for a reason, and it is really showing up now. It helps me help all my clients.”
Her healing journey began in her twenties after recognizing a victim mindset. “I kind of refer to it as removing my head from my rear end.” Learning about feminine energy helped her rebuild.
A Spiritual Rebirth
After college and years in the corporate world, Lori finally heard the universe calling her elsewhere. “The universe said no, it’s time. I kept missing the dang signs.”
A layoff in 2018 and a divorce set the stage for major personal upheaval. That same year, she reconnected with a daughter she’d placed for adoption but lost the connection again due to her drinking. “She set a boundary and said I can’t do this anymore… I’m so proud of her for doing that.”
Lori’s last drink came after that. “I thanked [the wine] for being there for me… but our relationship had gotten dysfunctional.” After one final night, she woke up with a hangover and hasn’t touched alcohol since—nearly 11 years now.
Near-Death and the Return to Intuition
A trip to Costa Rica later in 2018 changed everything. After having a seizure, Lori clinically died for several minutes. “It was so freaking cool. It’s unconditional love. You feel good. It’s beautiful. Time is different.”
That experience reignited the spiritual gifts she’d kept private for over 30 years. “I had actually been reading tarot… but only for myself, only for friends.”
Finding Lori’s Community and Stepping Into Purpose
Determined to live in alignment, Lori sought out her tribe. “If I’m still gonna live here, how can I have that be a walking heaven human?” She eventually found her community at Alara, where she now teaches a weekly spiritual development class.
Her early professional readings were sparsely attended, but she kept showing up. “I realized at an early stage I was getting healing from it too. It was so reciprocal.”
Lori Petty: Tarot, Astrology, Mediumship, and Breathwork
Lori blends multiple modalities in her sessions:

“From a personal standpoint, astrology is a blueprint of our soul,” she explains. For instance, “Jupiter is the planet of expansion, hope, and optimism… it’s moving into Cancer, and it loves Cancer.”
Her favorite calming practice? “Alternate nostril breathwork—Nadi Shodhana—helps calm your parasympathetic nervous system.”
Sessions That Empower, Not Predict
“I don’t tell people when they’ll meet their husband. I help get their energy to a place where they can draw in the right person.” For Lori, sessions aren’t about forecasting the future—they’re about aligning with your truth.
She recalls one intuitive moment: “I asked someone if a green teddy bear meant anything… she texted me later, totally blown away. Turns out it was deeply connected to her mother who had passed.”
On Fear, Premonitions, and the Collective Shift
Lori has had three near-death experiences, which have shaped her understanding of fear. “I don’t have fear about it anymore just because I’m in a different space.”
She’s had premonitions, including one before 9/11 and another before COVID. “I had a vision and pulled the Tower card… I can still feel it every time I talk about it.”
Now, she teaches that “Anxiety is shrill. Intuition is quiet,” and encourages clients to seek alignment, not panic. “The solutions to how we’re going to get through this have never really been thought of before.”
Healing Through Conscious Living
Lori believes true healing is rooted in presence. “Fast fashion, impulsive spending, unconscious eating—these are all symptoms. Conscious movement, conscious buying, conscious everything—that’s where healing starts.”
She also revealed a recent autoimmune diagnosis. Rather than spiraling, she leaned into her practice. “Breath work actually helps me better than medicine.”

Meditation: Her Go-To Practice
One simple tool she recommends is Kirtan Kriya—a 12-minute meditation using the mantra “Sa-Ta-Na-Ma” with mudras. “It’s one of the easiest ways for people that don’t meditate normally to do it… It helps you tap into your intuition.”
But for Lori, meditation can happen anywhere—even in the shower. “I clear my energy, call on the angels, and send energy to my organs… I’m washing all the crap energies… and letting it go down the drain and transmuting it into love and light.”
Final Message: Stay Present
Her closing advice? Presence. “You don’t have to be still and ‘om.’ You can walk, dance, sing—just be here.”
